INTRODUCTION
TCM873 is a traffic flow statistical millimeter wave radar module independently developed by Hunan Nanoradar Technology Co., Ltd. The module can provide multi-target tracking information between large, medium and small vehicles, non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians traveling in both directions within a range of 500 meters(max), including real-time information such as ID, distance, speed, azimuth and status of all targets. At the same time, it also supports traffic flow statistics, which can output information such as vehicle spacing, occupancy, queue length, congestion and so on. Among them, the accuracy of congestion flow statistics reaches 90%, and the accuracy of flat peak flow statistics reaches 95%.

TCM873 | Installation Method
The TCM873 radar can be front-mounted at a height of 1.5–6 meters (adjustable based on actual conditions). Ensure that no metal objects or materials incompatible with the radar antenna cover obstruct the front field of view. Side mounting is supported, but the tilt angle should generally not exceed 10° (subject to actual scenarios).
TCM873 | Can the TCM873 radar face upward or downward freely?
No. The pitch angle of the TCM873 cannot be adjusted arbitrarily. The radar transmits and receives electromagnetic waves. If angled upward, it may cause missed detections of targets; if pointed downward, ground clutter can amplify, overwhelming real signals.
TCM873 | Radar Detecting False Alarms
False alarms are now rarely encountered. If they occur, adjust the sensitivity level for mitigation. The default sensitivity level is 0, with adjustable levels 1–3. Higher sensitivity levels enhance the suppression of false alarms.
